I have currently received (does anybody care if I say I used Soulseek to locate and download mp3s?) most of the Carmelita Sings! album, sure, most of the tracks are misnamed and the person I downloaded them from has never been back since so I can finish the job, but if anybody would like them (and could possibly host them on their webspace? I can't afford it and my ISP space can't accomodate that much data) I am happy to share.
I do also have the BJE/YM split, but not the Two Cats Running(?) EP, but my "recording equipment" isn't the best, even if I did attempt to record the split to mp3. But if you can put up with that, I can share those too.
Contact me via my details here at tribe.net as I have given them if you are interested.
Thanks.

Re: Carmelita Sings
Fri, July 21, 2006 - 11:31 AMThat is correct, anyone can post our music as long as they let us know and are not charging for it. I'm just glad people still want to listen to our stuff. -

Re: Carmelita Sings
Mon, July 24, 2006 - 8:04 PMI have stumbled across sites that propose the opportunity to download your songs as mp3s, but only if they subscribe to some pay per mp3 bullshit site.
Such as: www.cd-database.net/database...501a.html
I don't know if you can actually do anything about it, which is a shame, but thought I'd let you know (if you didn't already.)

Re: Carmelita Sings
Wed, August 9, 2006 - 2:13 AMI've renamed the files to correctly indicate what tracks I actually have, and what I am missing is:
18 You Don't Have To Die Alone
19 Canary
20 Mr. Turtle
21 Liver Lover
22 The Nearly Out-Of-Salt Cabaret
23 Kathleen, The World Needs You
25 Suitcase
26 The Rotting Game
So if anybody can get these, that'd be great. -

Re: Carmelita Sings
Tue, August 15, 2006 - 6:16 PMI think we need somebody to either fix or re-upload Mr. Turtle, as it seems to be really scratchy and fucks up my mp3 player whenever it tries to play it. -
-
-
Re: Carmelita Sings
Tue, August 22, 2006 - 8:27 PMIf you could, that'd be great.
I ran through the mp3 and found out why my mp3 player crashes whenever Mr Turtle comes on... there's a whole bunch of high pitched bleeping type crap in the last thirty seconds, my mp3 player might be trying to interpret that as a fax.
Highly unlikely, but it's kind of funny to say so.

i think the crackle in the recording is either something in the recording or audio added when the birds were added...but im often wrong. i still reuploaded it, see if ya still crash, worked for me in winamp and itunes.

Mr. Turtle
Wed, August 16, 2006 - 6:18 PMYeah, the birds came from an old relaxation record from the 60s. We wanted the crackle there, since we were recording digitally we had to import that analog sound. -

Carmelita Sings! was removed from the server last month. This was due to the Thrillhouse reissue, which you really should go and buy! At some point in the future when all copies have sold out and everyone has a copy we will make it available for download.
At One is still up there as well as the two cats running ep.

Re: Mr. Turtle
Sat, July 21, 2007 - 7:10 AMI'm hoping that you keep both versions available, as since I purchased a copy of the new release, I deleted my copies of the original mp3's thinking they'd be much the same - but the third part of Reverend Thomas Speaks that precedes Rock N Roll Fire on the original track (Rotting Game / Stick It Out / Rock N Roll Fire) was not included.
I would like to rectify this for my collection, and possibly others may want to do the same. -
-
Re: Mr. Turtle
Mon, July 23, 2007 - 6:21 PMWow, I hadn't even noticed that. I didn't have a whole lot to do with putting the re-issue together. Was anything else missing? -
-
Re: Mr. Turtle
Mon, July 23, 2007 - 7:44 PMThankfully no.
It also may just be my headphones on the iPoo, but the added tracks (Cuhl Aide Mahn et al) all seem to come mostly from the right speaker - but nothing I can't fix in Cool Edit or whatever. I'm just happy to have the CD for when the MP3 police knock on my door. -
-
Re: Mr. Turtle
Tue, July 24, 2007 - 6:25 PMHa! Well, if they ever come a'knockin' to protect the chastity of Bobby Joe MP3s, it means they seriously have little else to do.
