Since this place is as dead as Michael Jackson's career anyway, I just thought I'd put up a link to an album by S.P.A.M. favorites, the Hope Bombs, seeing as until recently it was virtually impossible to track down anything by them anyway. Mon, February 19, 2007 - 3:04 PMWell, most of the bands on S.P.A.M. either broke up promptly after their albums came out (Dory Tourette and the Skirtheads, Los Rabbis, etc.). Those that didn't used the label as a stepping stone to bigger labels (Fleshies, The Enemies, Gravy Train!!!). I don't believe the label ever turned a profit.
Ben Morss of the Hope Bombs made a few inroads into semi-fame. The Pilgrims got quite a bit of notoriety for a while, and he played keyboard on at least one Cake album (not to mention on Carmelita Sings!) -

And yeah, the one Pilgrims song I heard was pretty awesome. "I Wanna Be With You" or something, very good stuff.
I don't think I've ever ran into anything by Los Rabbis either. Why does all the cool music have to be so hard to find?

Sun, February 25, 2007 - 5:52 PMAnd in my case, the CD wasn't paid for until after the demise of the label! Fortunately I was able to save them, so I claim that Uberkunst's MAKING FUN DIFFICULT album is officially the last ever S.P.A.M. release!
